Bio

Lively ballad outfit featuring two solo balladeers who joined forces in 2009 when Christy was recording his first CD (Macánta). Christy is from Dublin, originally, and Ó Faoláin hails from Kilkenny

O Faolain

Ó Faoláin is an Irish folk-musician who plays dance tunes (reels, jigs etc.) and sings old and new story-telling-songs. He’s also a multi-instrumentalist but specialises mainly in banjo, mandolin and guitar. He writes his own instrumentals and songs too and some of these feature in his set. Ó Faoláin has been playing professionally in bars and pubs since before he was old enough to be in these places (that means he’s been on the gig scene since about 1985). It’s been a long time in the biz, but he hopes to keep going for a long time to come as well and is really looking forward to playing a venue near you in the not too distant future  He has already toured extensively mainly in Ireland but also in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, England and Florida USA. Ó Faoláin has already released two albums: Alone & Unaccompanied (1994) and Pity ‘bout the Singer (2003). A new CD is currently in progress and he hopes to have it completed sometime in 2008. When he’s not at home in the recording studio or out dancing atop bar tables, he keeps himself busy turning wooden bowls, dishes and lamp stands on his lathe or sculpting eccentric forms from ancient Irish black bog-oak.
