Bio

The Swingin' Bluecats are a 6 piece Jump, Jive & Swing band suited & booted in 1940’s retro style royal blue Zoot Suits.

Each number in the band’s set has been professionally arranged so you can expect to hear classic Jump/Jive/Jazz/Swing numbers made famous by such legends as Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Jackie Wilson, Big Joe Turner, Bill Haley, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Glenn Millar Orchestra etc.,

The band have brought the house down at many events and venues (please see sample client list below).

Each of our band members has played extensively with various other bands (covering various musical styles) before coming together to form the Swingin' Bluecats.

We've been together for approx four years now and we all still continue to dep with other bands from time to time, always bringing something fresh back into the Swingin' Bluecsts mix!

Wedding Package:
Because we cover so many musical styles and events, we probably don’t fall into the average Wedding Band category.

We believe however that we offer something different. From the big band sounds of Glenn Miller’s “In The Mood” to Perez Prado’s “Mambo No.5” to Paolo Nutini’s “10/10” we believe we have something to suit every taste.

We travel nationwide and supply our own sound and lighting system. We offer a 6 or 5 piece version of the band for the main function (depending on your budget). As an optional extra we also offer 4 or 3 piece versions of the band (playing instrumental background music) for your pre dinner music.

Your first dance as newlyweds is an important one and with your blessing we would like to arrange and perform it live for you. However, you may prefer to have the original played on CD through our sound system, which we are also happy to facilitate.

From the time you book the band to the big day itself, we encourage you to keep in touch with any questions you may have. We may be able to offer some advice or be of assistance in some way, so please let us know. We endeavour to accommodate any special requests you may have.

Sometimes the events of the day take their own course and occasionally plans can run ahead of schedule or maybe behind. Our times are flexible; we’ll be at the venue ahead of our scheduled time and on hand for when you need us.

Band set-up prior to guest arrival can also be arranged if required.
