Bio
The Keepers are a very exciting Irish, Celtic and world folk music group. A band that plays a wild but controlled style of Irish traditional music and world folk songs.
They fuse heavy integrated bass lines, electric guitar and a multitude of drumming styles to accompany incredible solo efforts from the whistle and mandolin players.
The line up is Barry Hayes on Bass, Joe Salmon on guitar and vocals, Jo Jo Salmon on mandolin and vocals, Áine Fingleton on whistle and vocals and the latest addition to the group, Rós O’Meara on drums and vocals.
The Keepers Celtic Music also cut down to play semi acoustic gig's for smaller venues and for a change of pace. This in recent months has now become just as popular as the full band sound and all became by accident, when a local hotel asked us to play a trad set as a favour.
Joe switches to two alternatively tuned acoustic guitars and Rós plays the Cuban drum to great effect.
PlayList
The keepers play Irish ballads, folk and traditional irish pub songs.
Previous Gigs
The Keepers have toured Australia, Holland and also were named “highlight of the weekend” at the World Fleadh 2008, while sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in world folk, Celtic and traditional music.
