John started his music tuition in De La Salle college, where he was part of the award winning school choir and was trained in classical piano. He went on to win awards in musical stage production by the age of 17.

After a short stint in the WIT music college he hooked up with Tony and started honing the typical Waxie show...great craic with great musicianship in a party atmosphere.

Tony studied classical guitar in WIT and started his musical career as support for Def Leppard in the late 80’s with his band Tasc and also spent a few years doing session work for Darren Holden who went onto The High Kings. Besides spending the last 20 years in Santa Ponsa, The Waxies have played to huge crowds in all the major cities in Sweden, Germany, Holland, Finland, Denmark, Scotland and Norway.
