2 Grand John and Sallie are a family duo consisting of granddad and granddaughter, who have been singing together for around 4 years. John is a member of Anston male voice choir and Sallie is a member of Rainbow Connection Singers. 2 grand shot in to the public eye after receiving an overwhelming reaction to their appearance on Britain’s Got Talent. Their audition gained 1 and a half million viewings on you tube and they went on to reach the grand final of the TV show and have completed a sell out tour playing across the UK and Ireland. John was formerly a singer for 30 years and was initially spotted performing in the local pubs and clubs in Sheffield. He performed all over the country and even worked for 2 summer seasons in Blackpool. He first started singing when he was at school and was part of a school choir that performed in schools competitions. Sallie has been performing with Rainbow Connection now for 5 years and as part of the Rainbow Connection Singers for 3 years as the youngest ever member. The group have performed in the Music for Youth National Festival where they won the senior choir award for 2009. She has performed solos on many occasions on an amateur basis. The decision to enter Britain’s Got talent was taken as a bit of fun and a day out. They were astounded at each stage to get through, which eventually resulted in being finalists. One year later they are still performing every month and enjoying the recognition and fame, although Sallie is very grounded and she still attends High School and is preparing to sit GCSE’ s 2 years early. John and Sallie are recognised everywhere and have fans of all ages. 2 Grand have a varied repertoire of musical theatre, swing, blues and pop and can put on a performance of 20 minutes to 1 and half hours.
